The Department of Political Science at the University of Crete is a dynamic teaching and research institution offering courses and supervision in the major areas of contemporary political science. Unlike other political science divisions in Greek universities, that were usually established in the context of public and constitutional law divisions of law faculties, our Department developed with the aim of pursuing political science, public policy and international relations as academic fields independent of constitutional and public law. We are committed to offering a program of study that combines a systematic exploration of the various subfields within the discipline (political philosophy and political theory, public policy, comparative and European politics, political sociology, international relations) and the acquisition of personal and transferable skills (including the systematic training in foreign languages, IT skills, qualitative and quantitative methods).
