The General Assembly also appoints the five-member selection committee of the candidates.

Master’s program completion requires the accumulation of ninety (90) ECTS credits, which are obtained through the attendance of a certain number of courses and the preparation of a master’s thesis. The student must accumulate: (a) forty (40) credits from the successful attendance and evaluation of four mandatory courses, (b) twenty (20) credits from the successful attendance and evaluation of two elective courses and (c) thirty (30) credits from the preparation of a Master’s Thesis. The preparation of the thesis begins during the third semester of studies.

Courses’ attendance is mandatory. The Master’s program is mainly taught by the existing staff of the Department of Political Science. However, staff from other Departments of the University of Crete, other Greek Universities or university institutions from abroad can also teach, always based on the existing institutional framework. Each course is taught in the Greek language, while master thesis is also written in Greek.
